I’ve known Jon digitally for a bit, but we finally had the opportunity to meet in person at this year’s Presentation Summit in San Diego last month. I knew Stephanie only through her excellent book, Presenting Data Effectively which I recently read, so I was happy to get to know her a bit more.

GIFDeck is a new ridiculously simple online tool for converting Slideshare presentations to animated GIFs.
Google Slides, the ever anemic, that’s-it?, “competitor” to PowerPoint and Keynote has finally released an iOS app.
At least you can import PowerPoint files, but so far the 1.0 version still seems miles behind Office for the iPad.
This certainly does not explain ALL that is involved with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but I love the simplicity and visual storytelling that Le Monde put together, keeping the entire narrative geographically-centered.

My awesome friends at SlideRabbit wrote up a really nice explanation of how they recently created an interactive infographic for a client all within PowerPoint. And if you don’t read the whole thing, you can’t whine and say, “But why would you do that in PowerPoint?” (Hint: It’s all about client editability…)
